J'ai pu visiter des clubs incroyables et voir de magnifiques feuillages en cours de route !AG Claude LaLiberte m'a rencontré à Sherbrooke et m'a conduit à un dîner-rencontre à Drummondville. Merci à tous pour votre accueil chaleureux et votre compréhension dans mes capacités linguistiques limitées.! Quelle belle traversée de la frontière pour rendre visite à mes voisins québécois.
Le 10 octobre, j'ai dégusté un délicieux dîner , de cuisine de rue italienne offert par les étudiants en arts culinaires de l'école secondaire régionale de White Mountain lors de ma visite au Rotary Club de Lancaster, dans le New Hampshire. Le 16 octobre, j'ai adoré traverser les Montagnes Blanches pour voir nos amis du Wolfeboro Rotary Club. C'était une soirée repas-partage – et quel régal ! Certainement les meilleurs porcs effilochés, que j'ai jamais mangés – merci pour ce bon repas.
October! Where has the time gone??
I have been able to visit some amazing clubs and see beautiful foliage along the way! AG Claude LaLiberte met me in Sherbrooke and drove me to a dinner meeting in Drummondville. Thank you all for your warm welcome and understanding of my limited linguistic abilities.! What a beautiful drive across the border to visit my Quebec neighbors.
October 10th, I enjoyed a delicious Italian Street Food luncheon provided by the culinary arts students at White Mountain Regional High School during my visit to the Lancaster, New Hampshire Rotary Club. On October 16th, I loved driving through the White Mountains to see our friends at the Wolfeboro Rotary Club. It was potluck night – and what a treat! Some of the best pulled pork I have ever had – thank you for such a great meal.

Saturday, October 28, 2023 – Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) from 7:30-3:30 at St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, VT. This institute is like Rotary 101 for all new members, those interested in a leadership position, or those just curious about Rotary. There are 3 levels and one graduate seminar. You can take level one this October, and the 2nd level in the spring. Our sister district (7870) is sponsoring the spring RLI. Please sign up at www.rlinea.org. Our District is paying for the first 50 registrants, and there is still space. Please check the box that says paying by check. Breakfast, break-food and lunch are all provided. It is an inspirational day not to miss. We still need some graduates to sign up for the graduate level seminar on Succession Planning. You will come away with tools you can share with your clubs
Saturday, November 11, 2023 – District Training Assembly – Vermont State University Lyndon Campus (was Lyndon State College). We will start with registration at 10:30 AM and the program begins at 11 AM. Information will be shared about RYLA, Youth Exchange, Membership, Public Relations and more. This is an excellent time to meet the District Leadership Team and meet up with other Rotarians from around our district. As we network together, we see the broader world of Rotary!
The Foundation Dinner starts at 5 PM at the same place, so we hope you will stay and fellowship with your fellow district members and hear an inspirational message from Past Trustee Chair of the Rotary Foundation Brenda Cressey. In 2018-2019, Brenda served as the first woman Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair. We are also fortunate to have with us Past Rotary International Vice President and Past Rotary Foundation Trustee Michael McGovern. He is currently serving as Rotary International’s PolioPlus Committee Chair. The Executive Committee is working on bylaw revisions, so please watch for an email from me so that you can vote by club on these changes during our Assembly. Please plan on having at least one representative from your club at this assembly. The President may assign a representative to vote on behalf of the club.
Foundation Certification Trainings – evenings of Thursday, January 18 and Monday, February 12, 2024. These will be zoom meetings and are open to all Rotarians. If your club is interested in applying for District or Global Grants during the 2024-25 year, at least one member of your club must be certified at one of these evening meetings.
Save the date (Please Note the change of date) – March 16, 2024 – Spring District Assembly – also at VSU-Lyndon. We will hold round 3 for the District Speech Contest as well as training for in-coming secretaries, treasurers, committee chairs, presidents and assistant governors. This will be a hybrid meeting. A break-out session for Rotary Youth Exchange will also be offered. Stay tuned for more on this.

Nous commencerons par l'inscription à 10h30 et le programme commencera à 11h. Des informations seront partagées sur RYLA, Youth Exchange, adhésion, relations publiques et plus encore. C'est le moment idéal pour rencontrer l'équipe dirigeante du district et rencontrer d'autres Rotariens de notre district. En réseautant ensemble, nous voyons le monde plus large du Rotary !
Le dîner de fondation commence à 17 heures au même endroit. Nous espérons donc que vous resterez et échangerez avec les autres membres du district et entendrez un message inspirant de l'ancienne présidente administratrice de la Fondation Rotary, Brenda Cressey. En 2018-2019, Brenda a été la première femme administratrice de la Fondation Rotary. Nous avons également la chance d'avoir parmi nous l'ancien vice-président du Rotary International et ancien administrateur de la Fondation Rotary, Michael McGovern. Il est actuellement président du comité PolioPlus du Rotary International. Le comité exécutif travaille sur des révisions des statuts, alors soyez attentif à mon e-mail afin que vous puissiez voter par club sur ces changements lors de notre Assemblée. Veuillez prévoir d'avoir au moins un représentant de votre club à cette assemblée. Le président peut désigner un représentant pour voter au nom du club.
Formations de certification de base – Soirée du jeudi 18 janvier et du lundi 12 février 2024. Il s'agira de réunions Zoom et sont ouvertes à tous les Rotariens. Si votre club souhaite postuler pour des subventions de district ou mondiales au cours de l'année 2024-25, au moins un membre de votre club doit être certifié lors de l'une de ces réunions en soirée.

Rotary Friendship Exchange hosted guests from District 1320 in Scotland. They visited Polly’s Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill, NH for breakfast before touring the White Mountains. Above, you see Augustus St. Gauden’s National Park in Plainfield, NH. This is an exact replica of St. Gauden’s Lincoln Statue which is in Chicago.
District 7850 hosts and drivers were Ron and Marilyn Bedell, Dick and Melanie Podolec, Kathy Jablonski and Dick Bielefield, as well as Larry and Joan Vars. Touring the area, they were joined by Hanover Rotarians Boby Haynes, Brenda Campbell, and Jim Wooster. From Scotland, we had Gordon and Carol Mann, Tom and June Marchbank. They spent three days in the Upper Valley of NH, Burlington, VT and the Mad River Valley in VT.
