Spring is my favorite time of the year. The smells, the sounds of birds, the cherry and apple blossoms. Welcome Spring! I will end my newsletter this time with a few verses that capture my love of the season!
Our District Conference was a huge success. We had just over 100 people there, and a lot of catching up with old and new friends. Here is a brief photo capturing of the weekend.

Notre conférence de district a été un énorme succès. Nous étions un peu plus de 100 personnes et nous avons beaucoup discuté avec d'anciens et de nouveaux amis. Voici une brève capture photo du week-end.

The location at the Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, VT was beautiful, and we were treated to the extra entertainment of a University Women’s Rowing Competition!
Thanks to Louisa Tripp for the registration and program expertise, Carol Tichelmann for flying in from Vancover for our benefit and representing our RI President Gordon McInally. Thanks also to Eileen Rau for sharing the Peace Centers and joining Marilyn and Ron Bedell in sharing their Arch Klumpf Foundation stories. Marilyn also did an amazing assembly of pictures and memories for our memorial service on Sunday. Thank you all for the work you all did to make this District a place we all felt welcome and connected.

Mai est le mois de la sensibilisation à la santé mentale. Existe-t-il des moyens d’aider vos membres à se sentir connectés ? Existe-t-il des projets qui pourraient bénéficier au bien-être de la communauté ? Merci pour tout ce que vous faites dans vos communautés et dans le monde pour éliminer la stigmatisation liée aux besoins en santé mentale.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Are there ways to help your members feel connected? Are there projects that might benefit the well-being of the community? Thank you for all that you are doing in your communities and in the world to erase the stigma of mental health needs.

June 21-23: Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA). Larry Vars informs me that they are ahead of last year with the registrations, but still have some room. Rotary Friendship Exchange is coming to our District – Twice!
September 28th, our New Zealand District 9940 visitors fly into Montreal and are hosted from Sept. 28 – 30 in Sherbrooke. Oct. 1-4 they go to North Conway and Oct 5 – 7 with the Mad River Club. Oct 8-11 in the Burlington area and Oct 12 back to Montreal.
Oct 6-8, our Turkey District 2420 visitors will be hosted by the Lincoln-Woodstock Club and Oct 9-11 hosted in the Waterbury area. Oct. 12-14, they go to the Burlington area and Oct 15 fly home.
We also have 6 Rotarians going to Turkey from our District. They will have 5 nights in Istanbul, then Southern Turkey for 5 nights and end in Antalya, Turkey. If you are interested in the Rotary Friendship Exchange, please talk with some of the travelers that have been or are going on exchange. We are looking for a new RFE coordinator. Please let me know if you are interested.

Le 28 septembre, nos visiteurs néo-zélandais du district 9940 arrivent à Montréal et sont accueillis du 28 au 30 septembre à Sherbrooke. Du 1er au 4 octobre, ils se rendront à North Conway et du 5 au 7 octobre avec le Mad River Club. Du 8 au 11 octobre dans la région de Burlington et du 12 octobre à Montréal.
Du 6 au 8 octobre, nos visiteurs du District 2420 de Turquie seront accueillis par le Lincoln-Woodstock Club et du 9 au 11 octobre dans la région de Waterbury. Du 12 au 14 octobre, ils se rendent dans la région de Burlington et le 15 octobre, ils rentrent chez eux.
Nous avons également 6 Rotariens de notre district qui partent en Turquie. Ils passeront 5 nuits à Istanbul, et 5 nuits dans le sud de la Turquie , et termineront à Antalya, en Turquie. Si vous êtes intéressé par l'échange d'amitié du Rotary, veuillez discuter avec certains des voyageurs qui ont déjà participé . Nous recherchons un nouveau coordinateur RFE. Have you made your annual contribution to The Rotary Foundation yet? You can go onto My Rotary and make your donation online, give your contribution to your secretary, or go to the Rotary website to find out more information. We would love to give more away in District Grants, but we really need more clubs to be Every Rotarian Every Year Clubs! This means all members give at least $25.00 each year. That is all it would take to be able to supply all the requests we get for District money. Please consider giving. It is amazing to think about the good your contribution does all over the world.

Spring is in the Air
How do you describe spring green?
Fresh, new, emerging?
Potential.
Red buds consider the weather and pop into leaves.
Hillsides dotted with dark pines, spring green and almost leaves with red color.
Rain enhances the smells of spring.
And then, all of a sudden, the apple blossoms burst open.
Deep breaths and deep inhalations.
Enjoying what portends.
I walk and breathe. Take longer to observe and enjoy.
I love spring. The air is different – new – fresh.
Perhaps it is thoughts of what will be,
Perhaps it is just now.

Le printemps est dans l'air
Comment décrivez-vous le vert printanier ?
Frais, nouveau, émergent ?
Potentiel.
Les bourgeons rouges tiennent compte de la météo et apparaissent dans les feuilles.
Des coteaux parsemés de pins sombres, vert printanier et éclaté , aux feuilles de couleur rouge.
La pluie rehausse les odeurs du printemps.
Et puis, tout d’un coup, les fleurs des pommiers éclatèrent.
Respirations profondes et inspirations profondes.
Profiter de ce qui laisse présager.
Je marche et je respire. Prenez plus de temps pour observer et apprécier.
J'aime le printemps. L’air est différent – nouveau – frais.
Peut-être s'agit-il de pensées sur ce qui sera,
Peut-être que c'est juste maintenant.
