Youth Protection Best Practices-Vermont Clubs

First, any member who will be interacting with youth in our community because of our Rotary service projects or activities must provide evidence of a criminal background check through Vermont Criminal Information Center, by July 1st of each year.

This is a simple check that can be done by going to the VCIC website at https://secure.vermont.gov/DPS/criminalrecords/.  The cost is $30 for an unnotarized criminal record report.  Once obtained, please forward your report to our Club Secretary (Insert Club Secretary name and email address). Your record will be kept confidential at all times.  The Club will reimburse your expenditure for this criminal record check.

Second, even where a member has done a criminal record check as required above, no member should ever be alone with a minor in the course of any Rotary service project or activity.  This is non-negotiable and acts to protect both our members and any minor.
