District 7850 News - Promoting Clubs PR/PI
"The foundation upon which Rotary is built is friendship; on no less firm foundation could it have stood."
-Paul Harris, Founder of Rotary International

It is exactly that friendship and connection through Rotary that has made the first half of my club visits around District 7850 so special! From connecting over monarch butterfly stories and experiences to shared interests and hobbies, both within and outside of Rotary, I've been so grateful for all the friendship I've received and seen demonstrated among Rotarians and guests.

New Tax benefits for charitable contributions to The Rotary Foundation in 2026

Starting in the 2026 tax year, you can claim an "above-the-line" charitable deduction even if you take the standard deduction. Eligible non-itemizers can deduct up to $1,000 for single filers and up to $2,000 for married couples filing jointly. This means that you can claim this deduction in addition to taking the standard deduction, directly reducing your adjusted gross income and thereby decreasing the amount of taxes you owe.

What can you do to improve your community?
Take the Challenge and find out!

Amid mounting political tensions in Vermont and the country, there’s one thing we can all agree on: We want our kids to become good citizens — to learn about their communities and do what they can to make the world a better place.

The Good Citizen Challenge can help. This self-directed summer project for K-8 students — created by Seven Days and Kids VT in 2018 — encourages participants to engage with community life in a fun, age-appropriate way.

Through the Challenge, they’ll become more aware of public spaces such as libraries, parks, city halls, town greens, museums, the Statehouse — as well as the local news outlets that cover what goes on in those places.

The Challenge encourages participants to identify as Good Citizens — people who show up, take responsibility, pitch in, keep up with current events, vote and work well with others.
